In the wake of being held for a long time at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, the 2024 Video Music Grants are back in New York — however not at Radio City Music Lobby in Manhattan or the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. All things being equal, the VMAs were held at the UBS Field in Elmont, NY.

However, while New York has consistently done the best at the honors function — which appeared a long time back on Sept. 14, 1984 — the area this year probably won’t have made a big deal about a distinction with its disappearing importance.

But while it’s no longer as important as it once was — as MTV’s disconnect from music grows — the VMAs aren’t over yet. Though nothing on Wednesday night came close to the iconic moments of years past — and the awards themselves have become an afterthought for performances — they still had the almighty Taylor Swift, who won her fifth Video of the Year award for “Fortnite.”

First of all, congratulations to Tay for making it to the VMAs, who again added much-needed relevance and star power to the proceedings. And with 10 nominations, she was certainly confident not to go home empty-handed when she and Post Malone won the first televised award of the night: best collaboration for “Fortnite.” But a day after making a political statement by endorsing Kamala Harris for president, Swift also remembered 9/11 in a way that put all the festivities into perspective.

Most awful: Lisa

In the wake of being presented by Paris Hilton — who embedded her expression “That is hot” — Lisa was an easy decision. This K-pop vocalist was to a greater degree a K-flop when she performed with a multitude of artists who couldn’t save her from the unadulterated garbage that left all of us considering how she got a welcome.

In spite of the fact that it’s somewhat of a secret why she was shipped off the Drawn out Play Stage, the artist musician conveyed a whirlwind of heartfelt vocals and hard-hitting feelings as she sang her super hits “Let completely go” and “The Entryway.” She unquestionably surpassed Shawn Mendes, who took the primary stage to play out his new single “No one Knows.”

Best: Sabrina Woodworker

In a presentation that helped you to remember how the VMAs have exhibited the hot craftsmen existing apart from everything else previously, Craftsman played out a mixture of “Kindly Kindly,” “Taste” and “Coffee,” complete with some moving space travelers moving like Moonmen.

Most terrible: Katy Perry/Orlando Sprout

After the TMI shared by the couple, it was somewhat abnormal for Orlando Blossom to present life partner Katy Perry’s Video Vanguard execution and present her with the honor. It felt excessively nepotistic when it must be somebody who isn’t the dad of her kid who could do the distinctions. It detracted from her second — and, including that drawn out kiss, made us more couple unpleasantness that we didn’t require. Furthermore, his presentation wasn’t something we could adulate by the same token.

Best: Chapelle Roan

In the wake of going head to head with a picture taker on honorary pathway, breakout craftsman Roan carried an alternate sort of fire to the VMAs stage in her exhibition of “Bye, Darling!” Alongside Woodworker, Roan felt like the right sort of craftsman to be there brilliantly. It made up for the way that other top entertainers — like Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and SZA — were missing. And afterward, for sure, she proceeded to win the honor for best new craftsman by giving an enabling, gay-positive discourse.

Most awful: Megan You Steed

From Nicki Minaj to Doja Feline, the VMAs have served as entertainers lately, as hosts. It seems like they need to add to the arrangement to get somebody to commit — or probably they simply desire such countless enormous names. In any case, Megan You Steed now had nothing to do with performing twofold responsibility. She just was certainly not a decent host, despite the fact that she fared better when she played out a mixture. Be that as it may, this was all an overabundance.

Best: Lenny Kravitz

On a night when rock was profoundly missed, Kravitz, 60, performed “Are You Going to Turn out well for me,” “Human” — for which he won Best Stone Video — and a new “Fly Away” with Migos’ Quavo that made them dance again 26 years after the fact.

End

VMAs 2024: Best and most terrible minutes, from Taylor Swift and Eminem to Sabrina Craftsman and Katy Perry . The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) delivered many memorable moments, some of them spectacular and some of them controversial. Several stars made headlines for their outstanding performances and achievements at this year’s VMAs. Taylor Swift won a record-breaking number of awards and moved fans with her passionate acceptance speech. Her “Video of the Year” win was a hot topic, and the message she gave on the occasion reflected her seriousness about her career and her deep connection with her fans.

Eminem returned to the VMAs after a long hiatus, and his performance was a blast. His performance brought back nostalgia in the audience and his rapping style was what put him in the league of hip-hop legends. He returned to the stage with his old hits, proving that his energy and talent are still the same today. The audience applauded each of his songs and it was clear that his show was one of the biggest highlights of the VMAs 2024.

Also, Sabrina Carpenter’s much-awaited performance suffered from technical problems. It was a golden opportunity for her, but sound and lighting glitches disrupted the rhythm of her performance. Though she tried to handle her performance with aplomb, it failed to make the impact she expected due to technical difficulties.

Katy Perry gave a great, high-energy performance at this point in her career, but her political comments sparked a new debate on social media. Her fans were divided on whether or not political issues should be raised on a platform like the VMAs. Some called her comments bold, while others called it inappropriate.

Also, an unexpected technical glitch during a pre-recorded segment also made the atmosphere a little uncomfortable. Though such technical problems are common in live shows, many were disappointed about it on a stage as big as the VMAs.

Despite all this, the VMAs 2024 managed to bring together the best stars of the music industry and give the audience a memorable experience. The show not only honored the legacy of old and iconic artists but also gave a platform to rising new stars. The planning and presentations of the event proved that the VMAs is one of the most important ceremonies in the music and entertainment industry.

Overall, the 2024 VMAs gave the audience an exciting night filled with some spectacular, some controversial and some unforgettable moments that deepened their love for the world of music.
