PM Modi at India-Japan Summit 2025 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Tokyo on Friday, urged Japanese investors to expand their presence in India, highlighting the immense potential of India’s economy and its role as a global growth engine. Speaking at the India-Japan Economic Forum, PM Modi emphasized that Japan remains a trusted and vital partner in India’s development journey.

Addressing the gathering alongside Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, PM Modi underlined the depth of bilateral relations, recalling his long-standing engagement with Japanese business leaders from his days as Gujarat’s Chief Minister to his current role as Prime Minister.

“Japan is an important partner in India’s growth story. From metros to semiconductors, our partnership is a symbol of trust,” PM Modi said, noting that Japanese companies have already invested more than $40 billion in India.

India: A Land of Growth and Opportunities

Showcasing India’s economic progress, the Prime Minister stressed that capital invested in India not only grows but multiplies, thanks to the country’s political stability, economic reforms, and transparent policies.

He further highlighted that India is the world’s fastest-growing major economy and is on track to become the third-largest economy globally in the near future.

Reform, Perform, and Transform

PM Modi shared details of India’s policy reforms, including the recent approval of a simplified tax regime aimed at boosting investor confidence. He also revealed that India has opened up critical sectors such as defence, space, and nuclear energy to private participation, reflecting the government’s vision of “Reform, Perform, and Transform.”

“Our aim is not only to attract investments but to create a global hub of innovation and manufacturing. The world is not just looking at India but also trusting India,” PM Modi said.

Concluding his address, PM Modi invited Japanese investors to be a part of India’s growth journey with a strong call to action:
