Eventually, it spread to a number of significant cities, including Auckland, Paris, Frankfurt, London, Dallas, Toronto, Stockholm, Doha, and the New York City metropolitan region. The eateries mostly cater to South Asian expatriates, despite their growing popularity among non-Indians as well. “Canteen-like joints strictly aimed at Indian expatriates missing a taste of home” is another term used to describe them. It is seen as a labor-intensive, high volume, low profit business. American and Indian labourers are sent by Saravana Bhavan to work in their overseas subsidiaries.

This South Indian café network at present serves numerous nations around the world. Outside India and the U.S., these nations incorporate Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Oman, Canada, France, Belgium, Germany, Singapore, Bahrain, UAE, Joined Realm, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Qatar, Hong Kong, Thailand, Netherlands, and Sweden.
