NCERT Partners with Army Postal Service : New Delhi, August 28, 2025: In a significant move to promote equitable access to education, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Army Postal Service Corps. The collaboration aims to make NCERT textbooks easily available to children of soldiers posted in remote and far-flung areas of India.

According to an official NCERT statement, the MoU will leverage the Army Postal Service’s extensive network of regional post offices to deliver textbooks efficiently to students living in challenging locations. These post offices serve not only the Army but also the Air Force and Navy, ensuring that children across all branches of the Indian Armed Forces benefit from the initiative.

The MoU was signed by NCERT Secretary Aman Sharma and Army Postal Service Additional Director General Major General Shipra Sharma, in the presence of NCERT Director Professor Dinesh Prasad Saklani and NCERT Joint Director Professor P.C. Aggarwal.

“This collaboration is a vital step toward establishing a reliable and inclusive delivery system for NCERT textbooks,” the NCERT release stated. “It aligns with the objectives of the National Education Policy 2020 and promotes equitable access to quality education for all children, irrespective of their location.”

By ensuring that students in remote regions receive timely access to educational resources, this partnership reinforces India’s commitment to inclusive education and supports the learning needs of children whose parents serve in the armed forces.
